Eric Oldberg was born in 1901. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. from Northwestern University and trained under Harvey Cushing in Boston. Oldberg served as professor and head of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine until his retirement in 1971.
